Our goal at ACOSH is to work towards a tobacco and vape-free future.
While there have been encouraging trends over time, there is no room for complacency. To protect our gains in tobacco control and resist the efforts of tobacco and vaping industries to undermine them, it’s critical that tobacco control remains a key priority for federal, state and local governments.
We’ve outlined our approach in the new ACOSH Strategy 2023 – 2025. This strategy provides a top-level view of our key priority areas, strategic actions, and audiences over the next few years. It aligns with the WA Health Promotion Strategic Framework and the National Tobacco Strategy 2023 – 2030.
The states and territories’ role in aligning their tobacco control efforts cannot be underestimated. WA, where ACOSH is based, has been at the forefront of past reforms and reinstating its leadership is vital. Our advocacy work relies on our partnership with a coalition of organisations working in the Tobacco Control sector in WA.
